We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Cashier to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team! 

 

Reporting to the Food & Beverage leadership team, as a Cashier, you will be providing excellent customer service while managing sales transactions, maintaining product displays, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. The role requires someone who is friendly, detail-oriented, and able to handle various tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage with customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Answer customer questions about products, promotions, and store policies.
  • Assist customers in locating desired products and make recommendations.
  • Handle complaints professionally, escalating issues to the store manager when necessary.
  • Provide samples as appropriate and explain new products or seasonal offerings. Assist in inventory management, including stocking and replenishing coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies as needed.
  • Accurately ring up customer purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Process various payment methods, including cash, credit, debit, and gift cards.
  • Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Offer upselling opportunities, such as additional items or special promotions.
  • Package items carefully to maintain product integrity and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in stocking shelves, arranging product displays, and replenishing inventory when necessary.
  • Keep track of low-stock items and inform the supervisor when inventory needs replenishment.
  • Rotate stock to ensure fresh products are available to customers and reduce waste.
  • Keep the cashier station and surrounding areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Ensure displays are tidy and visually appealing.
  • Follow safety and sanitation protocols, including cleaning surfaces and handling food safely.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, such as locking the store and performing store cleanliness checks.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with management about customer feedback, inventory issues, or procedural improvements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cashier or retail experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate-weight boxes (up to 25 lbs).
